This Saturday, June 8th, MF Gallery presents their 10th Anniversary show! I will be showing my “Poisson Rouge” collage, along with many talented MF artists from the past and present. Come out and toast MF Gallery’s 10th year!
As a newly represented artist with Taipei’s Yo Gallery (yay!), I have created an exclusive mini series of three original works to be shown during Young Art Taipei 2013, an Asian art fair held in Taipei, Taiwan, May 17-19th! The three collages, “Lydia,” “Colette,” and “Beatrice,” are all part of a mini series entitled, “The Time Travelers.” This series is loosely based on the three Fates of Greek mythology, women lead by time and determining the life cycle of man. I wanted to explore the interaction between time as a guiding principle in life, and the classic idea of the muse, a figure of inspiration and influence. I was able to incorporate time into my standard victorian style portraiture in a unique way, and trying my hand at a bit of three dimensional work was a lot of fun.

This Saturday, Modern Eden Gallery presents “Tarot: Art of Fortune,” a 78 person art show spanning every card in a standard Rider-Waite Tarot deck, reimagined by top contemporary artists from around the United States. Curated by Warholian’s Michael Cuffe and hosted by Bradley Platz and Kim Larson of San Francisco’s Modern Eden Gallery.
